Jean-Baptiste Bourotte, a vision led by the 5th generation

Jean-Baptiste Bourotte built a solid experience in business strategy and the development of exceptional products, notably at Cartier, before taking over the family wine trading house and wineries in 2003. At the age of 30, he supplemented his education at HEC Paris with a University Diploma at the Bordeaux Faculty of Oenology and devoted himself to hands-on work. This visionary great-grandson, alongside his teams, instills an approach based on rigor and excellence.

A key player in Bordeaux wine trading, present in more than 70 countries.

In 1881, the Audy family settled in Gironde to develop a wine trading business, anticipating the growth of the market—especially for Pomerol and Saint-Émilion wines. Jean-Baptiste Audy (great-grandfather of Jean-Baptiste Bourotte) founded the eponymous wine trading house in Libourne in 1906. From the 1920s, he acquired several prestigious estates, including Clos du Clocher (Pomerol) and Château du Courlat (Lussac Saint-Émilion), laying the foundations for a sustainable wine business. Today, the company is renowned worldwide for its values, responsiveness, and service excellence.

Grand Cru cellar

A wine trading house is also about storage dedicated to wine aging—knowing how to wait to offer wines at their peak. Yquem, Margaux, Ausone, Cheval Blanc, or Lafite Rothschild: our cellars house legendary wines from prestigious vintages, delighting connoisseurs and collectors worldwide.

Our wines

Through vine cultivation and the creation of a great wine, we express the character of a land shaped millions of years ago. Preserving and interpreting these geological treasures through a living product—wine—is the essence of our mission. In this process, climatic uncertainty is the magical, untamable element that offers us, each year, the opportunity to create a unique masterpiece. The word ‘terroir’ embodies this idea: the land, the climate, and human hands nurturing a culture that flourishes within it. Walking between vineyard rows, discovering cover crops, the delicate pruning of each vine, and the meticulous care in every vigneron’s gesture reveals the unbreakable bond between man and his environment. This alchemy of nature and craftsmanship gives birth to a wine that carries the story of its land, year after year—a story passed from one generation to another, from one culture to another, from one table to another.

Winemakers dedicated to their land, crafting exceptional wines.

Our estates, all within a 15-kilometer radius on the Right Bank, are cultivated with meticulous care, like a garden. A scientific and experimental approach aims to create an environment that fosters vine resilience. Biodiversity development is at the heart of this work, including the use of cover crops that structure the soil and provide essential minerals.

The Bourotte-Audy estates bring together prestigious appellations, reflecting the global reputation of Bordeaux’s finest wines.

On the blue clay and gravel soils of the Pomerol plateau, Clos du Clocher produces a timeless wine with strong character. Château Monregard La Croix, rooted in ancient sands, offers immediate and fruity pleasure. Château Bonalgue, a third Pomerol variation, charms with velvety tannins typical of the appellation. In Lussac Saint-Émilion, Château du Courlat offers red, white, and rosé ranges, including a selection of wines at 9° alcohol content. Finally, Château Les Hauts-Conseillants presents an elegant and refined Lalande-de-Pomerol.
