COUP DE CŒUR/FAVORITE

« After eighteen month of ageing in oak barrels, this wine adorned with a very dark Bordeaux color shows all the qualities expected of a great Pomerol. Both powerful and delicate, its bouquet expresses the very ripe grapes and very fine log of wood, with notes of black cherry, blackcurrant, spices, licorice and cocoa. Generous and vinous, as complex as the nose, the palate deploys good roundness supported by powerful and elegant tannins, which will allow to enjoy this bottle young, while permitting a long ageing potential. 2019-2030. » (p205)

« A merlot 2015 ( 90%), showing some tile-like gleams. A very ripe nose, with candied plums and oak ageing notes with hints of speculoos; a palate in the same style, generous, ample and round, with already fine woody tannins – 2019-2028. » (p205)

« A wine with a dominating merlot (85%), created in 1972, a bit before Jean Baptiste Bourotte’s birth. Reflecting its appellation by the variety of its terroirs (the clayey-sandy soils of Neac and the gravels of Lalande), this 2015 is at the image of its vintage of great ripeness. Its very fine range of aromas associates very ripe black fruit with an elegant oak with hints of cedar, soft spices and pepper. The palate does not disappoint : we find ampleness, a sufficient structure, aromas of cherry and almond and well coated, toasty and chocolatey tanins. 2019-2024 » (p 218)
